Hi all,
Wow - what a site. This was a real golden nuggett of a find. After scraping through bits and bobs of information here and there, I come across this mega site, of commited cockpit builders, and a really friendly helpful bunch at that!
My name is David Rogers, I live in Durham, England. I've been into flight simming for years but about a month ago, something came over me and the time felt right to start thinking about building a cockpit.
At the moment, I have the 'bones' of a set-up; I have a projector and 2.5m x 2m projector screen which displays the outside view, and I have a 20.1" widescreen monitor, which at the moment is displaying standard 2D 'whole' panels from all of the complex add-ons from FS9 (Level D, PMDG, Feelthere, Majestic, etc).
I have CH Yoke, Throttle Quad and Pedals. So a pretty basic set up except that I have a very rudimentary wooden 'enclosure' around the desk that this lot is all attached to..... It (deliberately) restricts the view of the outside on the projector, and so does form something of a 'cockpit' with the immersion that that brings - but not yet to the level of most of the folks on here. :D
Anyway, great to be here - I have a couple of questions but I'll post them in the appropriate forum sections.
Cheers!
David
