View Full Version : Flaps rumble, PM Sounds

Delphi

Hi folks,
I have installed the latest version of PM sound, PM system und Boeing GC.
The flight model ist PMDG B737-800. PM sound works basically perfect. I get all call outs and other sounds, e.g. ntrim. The problem I have is with flaps rumble and runway bump sounds. I seems that their is no event triggering PM Sounds to play those sounds.

Does anyone know the solution?

Thanks!

Hi, You Have To Have The Pm Sounds Menu Open Whilst Flight Simulator Is Loaded Becuase Fs Works With Pmsounds Together Then You Will Hear The Sounds. If You Dont - Make Sure You Have Some Sounds Selected In The Tick Box Next To Each Sound

Should Help!:)

Sorry Misread Your Question (appologies) All I Can Suggest Is Make Sure The New Sound You Have Got Is Ticked The Box So It Will Play I Have It And Works Fine Is Much More Realistic When It's Working

Good Luck

Thanks for your answer....

The sounds are checked but not triggerted by an event. I found that it works with other flight models but not with PMDG. Some ideas folks?

I am using the PMDG-700 and the sounds are there. Are you sure they are just not so low you can't hear them? I have mine very nice but I do have a sub woofer in my system and it is more felt then heard...

Hi Delphi,

I am currently away from home and cannot check on the sim, but - if my memory is correct about what I experienced some time ago - here's what I can recall:

Flaps: the default pm sounds setup (as you can see in the PMSounds sounds folder) provides no sounds for the flaps, unless you put some sounds in the pmsound folder AND do some programming of your own.
Of course your FS should play by itself the flap sounds which come along with the active aircraft, but surely not on a client pc (you need pmSounds for that).

Runway bumps: I got accidentally into this, by looking at the "status" window on pmsounds page, that's the box showing the latest sound played by the program. It showed "nbump" but without audible effect. Actually I couldn't recall a nbump.wav file within the pmsounds folder, and in fact there wasn't one. I simply took one suitable elsewhere, copied there and named it nbump.wav, et voilą, the bumps were played and audible.

You may wanna try ...

Cheers,

Hi folks,
thanks for your reply. After re-installation of PM Sounds the runway bumb is working now. The flaps sound still not works. The status window even does not show the event. All other events are there and the sound works fine.

I also tried the trick with the nbump.wav sound. It works when you are renaming a soundfile.
Only one problem even when I set a value of 20 in the ini-file, the sound remains very loud comparing with other files.

Any suggestions ?

Hi Michel. Use a sound file editor and lower the volume of the file that is too loud. Thats what I do to change one that is too loud. Time consuming if you want to change a number of them, but well worth the time.

hello,
is it possible to have in the sound.cfg file, the sounds of PMDG and also using the standard sounds of FS9. For example i want the default sound of the engine but i want also the wind sound of PMDG. How to do this ?
