Hello All:
I am (of course) new to this site, and I must say it is nice to find out that there is an active cockpit building community out there that one can turn to and learn from. I have become so increasing interested in building my own cockpit lately that I tend to spend more time researching information than I do flying online these days.
Just a bit of background: I started playing FS9 less than 2 years ago and became so hooked on it that I started working on my PPL for real. I have about 35 hours clocked so far and I am ready for solo... (at least that is what my instructors says, who is 23 years old and 26 years my junior) You are never too old to learn how to fly!
Not sure where to start as far as what type to build, single engine GA or the Full Monty so to speak (A320). I am learning to fly smaller craft, so may I should think BIG for the home! However like most things, I will likely have to start on a modest budget that the CFO (wife) approves!
There seems to be so many approaches to doing things. From purchasing all the components essentially ready made and assembling to making everything from scratch (sweat and solder). I am kind of interested in making some components but not sure how involved it could get... Thoughts?
Anyway for those who may wonder... ;) (I be Canadian)
