Is there a way to get ATC to follow my flight plan? Here's the deal. I did a flight from Seattle to KSFO in the PMDG 747. My approach to KSFO is the Goldengate 5 approach. The approach would fly me over KSFO and then a left hand downwind turn to intercept the localiser for runway 28L. When flying the IFR flight ATC gives me a different heading and I don't even get to fly that approach. Only time I can do that is if I'm flying VFR.

Does this make any sense at all? lol

ATC in Fs doesn't follow sid/stars. Don't know about third party ATC addons. Let me suggest Vatsim/Ivao for a totally new dimension to flightsimming.

I'd like to try my hand at Vatsim but I don't have a high speed internet connection. Probably a good idea for me to actually read the Radar Contact manual. I quit using VoxATC because that white background window was killing my framerates in VC mode for the PMDG 747.

If you do text, I dont think you need a high speed connection. I always use vatsim, its the BEST. On it right now ;)

FS ATC is worthless for real-world operations. You're better off on IVAO, but with a slow internet connection, just fly the procedures on your own.

I haven't tried it yet, but I hear Radar Contact might be worth a look.
