Hello everyone,
Nice to meet you all, my name is Matthijs Borgdorff and I'm from The Netherlands in Europe.
I got a link to your forum from someone at the Flightsim.com forums.
I'm a big fan of simulation myself both flying and driving actually. More driving than flying to be honest, but that's just me, and it's for now!
I got so into the whole simulation thing and all the nice extra hardware that you can buy and make for it, that I decided to make a website where people can show pictures and videos, tell their stories, about how they go the extra mile to experience their games/simulations. I will contact the admins of this site to ask if it's ok to make a topic about it here and hopefully get some of you to add your rigs to our collection.
I've already seen that there is a huge amount of people here with very impressive flight setups! I can't wait to browse through em all. Very happy to have found this forum. A wealth of information and interesting pictures/footage! :D

Thanks for the welcome guys!
As for pictures of my setup, as I said I have an entire website dedicated to showing pictures of your setups, so is it ok if I just give you a link to my pictures there? I suppose I could post some here as well but hey.
The topic is four pages long with pics here and there of how the setup progresses. It isn't until the last page that you see the setup the way it is now. So keep scrolling! :D

That personal blog thing sounds very good. I'm sure people will require quite some space to show all there is to show about their flightsimulators. That's a good place to do it.
I sent an email to this site's webmaster last week. I'm hoping to hear from them sometime soon. I'll be around though. :)

Thanks again guys!
@ Bob Reed: If you need more examples of carsims, for an idea for your son's maybe, check out this link (http://www.thewayiplay.com/mainforum/index.php?board=2.0) for a whole lot more of em. Some of em are a lot more complex than others but they are all unique. I'm sure you can get some ideas there. Click on the overview topic to see one pic of every setup. Then just click on a pic to get directed to it's topic.

Hey guys,
I got a new pc (E8400, 8800GTS 512MB, 4GB pc6400DDR2) and FSX since I can run it properly now. So I've been doing some flying lately! Really enjoying it and also enjoying my setup with it. I'll make a video and some pictures soon of how I'm flying.
I use a trackIR which, when I got it, I always thought to be the number one gadget for flightsimmers. It seems though that you guys are more prone to go for the multiscreen solution. In such a setup having a TrackIR kind of defeats the purpose I guess. Since I have only one screen, I use the 3D cockpits and a trackIR. It works pretty nicely still though, especially with my projected 145 inch HD screen! :D
My setup is multifunctional, I use it for flying but also for racing and sometimes even normal (keyboard and mouse) games. But dang, those permanent flight setups you guys have really are something else! Meh, I'd need a new house first. ;) Until then, multifunctionality is my friend.

Matthijs, the TrackIR is THE thing to have if you dont have the ability or desire for a dedicated cockpit. I have one and love it, but I dont have much need now.
Take care!
