Hi guys I am really proud to post this video... Happened couple of years ago when TACA used to operate Boeing 737-300... Dual Engine Flameout during a Storm... actually a Flaw was found on the design of the 737-300 engines after this incident... I well let the video Speak for itself... The Captain of the flight is a very good friend of mine and we fly a lot...
Oh!! and he has only one eye ...

It is really interesting, couple of months back we where flying from Toronto to El Salvador and we passed right through the spot where he landed the plane... I was amazed it was a really small field, furthermore during the whole dual failure they where beaten by the storm they where going through so it was a real Pilotīs nightmare... No Engines in Severe Weather...
They didnīt make it to any airport so they decided to go to the lake... When they cut through the covering the Co-pilot at that time another amazing pilot ( now retired) He saw that field... They turn right to it and alligned no flaps till they where sure they had the field...
Once they had Flaps 25 I think and Gear Down he saw the little wall that is shown on the video just in final he applied Flap 30 or 40 canīt remember that way the plane ballooned and jumped the wall and they landed like in any normal runway... A real amazing story... This guy is also an aerobatic pilot he really has amazing flying skills and he is very cool in the cockpit...

Lowing another notch of flap will usually make them balloon pretty good. When on final, I try and always make sure I'm at 30 well before the marker to avoid having to retrim and adjust the throttles on short final.
I have used that trick before though to good effect. The 727 balloons quite a bit going from 5 to 15, and then again from 15 to 25. You have to forcefully push the nose over as you are re-trimming during a flap change.
Going from 30 to 40 just bleeds off speed and it starts sinking like a rock if you don't push up the throttle a fair amount. Comes in mighty handy for short fields though. You can really get it to hang in the air.
