Hey guys,

I think its finaly time to introduce myself to you guys, cause my project is getting more serious every day. And i still have tons of questions and many more appearing every day.

My name is Mike and i live in the Netherlands. And my goal is to have a nice B737NG pit in my attic.

Some time ago i also got in contact with a person (Stef AKA dnoize) known to this community. He is very helpful and has learnd me a lot of this hobby. And the best thing is, he lives quite near to me. Ive seen his pit and i must say im kind of jealous...... I want that to!

My plan for 2008 is to build the flight controls first before building the MIP or PED. That way i have something to use/play with for when i get closer to the real deal.

Since last year i started collecting parts for my cockpit. At this time i whas able to obtain the following parts:
- real B737-200 throttle quadrant (currently in interfacing stage)
- real B727-200 landing gear lever
- cpt & co weber B737-200 seats (not 100% sure if im goin to keep em)
- real yaw damper switches
- real B737 engine start switches (eaton switches i think)
- real CRJ-200 throttles

Got some pix to show you guys.

Welcome to the loony bin!! And yes you have jumped off the deep end. How many people do you know have real airplane parts in there home? Not too many!!:) What you have so far looks great and why would you not keep the seats? They will work well.

hey buddy....good to see you here....

Mike is one serious builder (or should i say obsessed ;-) )

As mike says he lives quite close and its nice to have a building buddy and address problems together. He thought of some quite creative solutions and i look forward to build on our sims together.

Hey Mike ,
Welcome to the world of much pleasure and also at times much frustration.

I wish I was as lucky as you in getting my hands on some real aircraft parts.

As you are in the Netherlands, I would like to try to meet up with you some time in the next couple of months as I am on my way to Amsterdam on the 29th March from Kuala Lumpur. I will be in Amsterdam for 03 months. I am attending a course on the B777 for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers with KLM.

Hopefully my 3 months of being there wont be so boring as I would love to visit your setup and also Stef's that you mentioned.

Let me know if you are game to meet up and I will give you me contacts later in a PM to you.

My latest pic of my setup with a lame attempt of making a Throttle Quardrant using an old Safeline Throttle system ( That was spoilt but I used the levers and added new Pots ) and some PVC 10 diameter piping cut in half to have that look of a quardrant....

Cheers

Welcome Mike. Bob has already let you know your considered looney because you have real aircraft parts in your house, but that's not what makes you strange, its being a tube driver! Us GA guys are normal! :D

Glad to have you in our FFF. (Fanatic Flying Family)
