View Full Version : link trainer tachometer, can I do anything with it?

Got this link trainer tachometer from Ebay. Has a plus and a minus contact. holding a battery thee makes the needle move. Can I interface with MSFS somehow?

Quite likely yes, but you'll need to post more info about the tach before anyone can given meaningful suggestions how.

that's all I know ....didn't come with any information. I haven't found any detailed description of Link trainers online.

is there such a thing as a USB controler that can generate a voltage based on a variable ? I'm thinking I can play with the voltage values until I get it right....

Several companies (Beta Innovations, Phidgets, etc.) have USB interface modules with analog outputs. You can use the SimConnect API to extract data from FSX. I'm not familiar with the drivers available to talk with the interface modules, but I imagine it exists.
