Hi !
Having trouble to set up the Phidgets 8/8/8 TEXT(1203).
Had error code 11 before so reinstalled everything now can't upgrade the Phidget library massage said already installed and reverse the install.
I running Win XP (no service pack), have Installer .net 2
Did run reg clean software before re install.
Any idea?

Hi, there are a couple of things i can suggest you try.
uninstall through your control panel, remove software. Then go the location where your fs2phidget file was kept, ie C:\Program Files\FS2Phidget, and delete this file. This will remove any evidence of the program in the system. Then conduct a defrag on your system.
Make sure you have the latest version, Alan Dyer has just uploaded a newer version 4.3.6 that fixes some bugs.
Install the newer version and see if that fixes the problem.

Hey Simpilot,
What exactly were you working on doing or which assignments were you using, i just ran a few tests and it seems to be working fine for me.

Thanks for your input guys!
Uninstalled fs2phidgets436, all three Phidget.msi and dotnetfx.exe
Just installed WinXP Service Pack2.
Right now running defragmenter.
Here is what I'm planning to do:
Install : 1-dotnetfx35.exe
2-Phidget_2.1.4.20080513.msi
3-fs2phidget436
That should be it, right?

Yes try it and that should fix it, i managed to get that same error last night, however only by adjusting some variables that conflict with each other.
basically the best thing to do when this happens is go to your fs2phidget file on the c:/ and find the file for the phidget you were using, ie it will be something like phidgetinterfacekit31854, this is the same as displayed in the left hand box under phidgets when running fs2phidget, this file is created automatically when you connect a phidget to fs2phidget and stores all your settings or what ever you were doing with your phidget.
If you just delete that file ( un plug your phidget first ) it will remove the problem, and when you plug your phidget back in it will be like the first time you connected it and the error should have gone, only thing is you will need to start from scratch and re calibrate your phidget to your desired settings.
This is what i do every time i get a conflict and it works ok for me with my experiments.

Thanks for your help, but still can't make it work!
It's probably my system and my knowledge about computers
I installed Netframe work 3.5, went ok!
When tried to install Phidget2.1.4 said is already in the system and reversed the install!
But cannot find trace of that install anywhere!
When try to run Fs2hidgets said cant find Phidgets manager install latest msi file!
Cant even find Netframe to see if I could uninstall previous version from there.
I'm ready to give up ! Not looking forward to reformat the hardrive again!
I need a brake!

Ohhhhh Don't even think of doing that yet.
It is a holiday in the USA, and quite possibly he is busy with family. Let me PM him, and let him know about your post.
Don't give up.. We pit builders never give up!

Trevor, It is Memorial Day weekend here in the US. Therefore, response might be a little tardy. Some of us sim builders have families and this weekend is a time of travel where we spend time with our families. Many folks also celebrate our sons and daughters graduating from high school today.
Simpilot,
There is good chance that problem is a program bug.
Let me have steps that I would need to follow to replicate the error.
Does the 8/8/8-TextLCD card display as two seperate devices (two seperate serial numbers) on fs2phidget?
Regards,
Alan.

Yes, i agree, dont give up and wipe everything. To uninstall the phidgets msi go to your control panel and then add/remove software. It should be in there and then remove it from there.
Is the version you are using the one Alan Dyer has uploaded to this site in the download section which is compatible with fs2phidgets ?

If I recall, when running phidgets.msi there is also an option to remove.

As I thought, my windows got corrupted.
Moved the Phidgets card to my main FS computer installed and running fine!
During the uninstall, re-install windows got mixed up. Could not able to remove the previous msi install.
Thanks for trying to solve my problem and apologies to take your time away from flying! ;)

Im glad that you got it sorted, its interesting to see that windows was the culprit this time, Dont worry about the apology we have all and still do have times of frustration at times with various aspects of building our sims.

Simpilot,
Glad you got squared away.
Being a simnaut has its challenges.
Now I need to figure out why my EICAS display has stopped working. :(
Ozziesim, Trevor, myself and the other Members of Mycockpit.org (almost an institution now) enjoy spreading the passion for anything aviation.
There's an ugly rumour circulating that Ozziesim was raised by an emu, but is most probably not true 'cause I don't believe those birds can fly.

Alan
