I want a small monitor about 6" wide and 4" high and my mate suggested a Digital Photo frame. Although i'm unsure as to whether this would work as a monitor replicating a certain piece of information such as a couple of guages in live time with flight simulator.

Or even if there is potential for this (ie. further software needed, or modifications.)

If anyone has anything at all or even recommendations of small monitors that are good value post a reply as im sure there are more people out there who would like an answer to this one. For sure it certainly would be convienient id it were possible.

I have some 3.5 x 4.5 screens. I'm building GPS and Radar units out of them right now but I could be persuaded to part with a couple at the right price.

Not sure if the photo frame would work, mine will play vids, pics on USB or card, but its not a monitor seen by windows. Its a seperate device playing stuff back and there are no direct video inputs.

You might want to try a mini TV screen (LCD) and video out on your graphics card. I did this a while back and it worked, but as it disabled my second monitor port (was hoping my card would drive all 3 outputs) I went back to 2 full size screens.

EarthLCD has a 5.8" wide-view monitor for $98. It can be easily converted to RGB if you do not have a composite video output. http://store.earthlcd.com/SK-3021-SK3021?sc=7&category=16

I have another model (they no longer carry) that I converted into a 5" RGB monitor.

Take a look

I had requests for more info.

These screens are USED. I test each one before using it. They work or I dispose of them.
Screens are powered by 12v
Here you can see the screens I have and the connections I'm currently using.
