Hi to everyone!

Thought I'd just say a big hello to all as I've just signed up. I'm hoping to build a small, 'desktop' 747 cockpit (if that's possible!) to begin with - just MCP, EIFIS, EICAS and FMC. Can anyone offer me any pointers on where to get started? There is a boggling array of suppliers.

I've seen the CPFlight equipment and I have to say that that is definitely my cup of tea! Beautifully made. It's a shame they don't do a dedicated 747-400 MCP though. Does anyone know if one is in the pipeline?

The Engravity FMC also look very nice. Are there any other alternatives?

I'm an electronics engineer by trade, so I'm happy to get stuck in with the soldering iron if necessary.

I mainly fly the PMDG 747-400 in FSX. Beautifully simulated aircraft. Also looking forward to the MD-11 for FSX and the 737NGX too...

Cheers!

Welcome ED :)

You can do a lot on a desktop, although I fly GA so it fits a little better. Sure you will have a great time, and with an electronics background I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Thanks for the kind welcome magicaldr, I'm really looking forward to building my pit and buying some new toys!

Hopefull I'll get the time to create a few additions of my own rather than buying everything. That's when the fun begins! :)
