Hi Guys,
Anyone got a link to a photo of a B738 sidewall / side window showing the tiller, oxygen mask, light panels in any detail?
Most of the photos I have seen so far taken towards that side are normally taken from a standing position in the centre of the cabin and focus more on the MIP...
Many thanks
Mike

So that's where they hide the cup holders on that plane!
Does anyone know why the coiled cord from the aft sidewall is connected to the lower window frame?
The 727 has this same feature, but I've yet to figure out what it's for. My POH doesn't say anything about it either.

The wire is probably the power for the laminated heater in the side windshield. I will confirm with my wife tomorrow, she flies the 737-500.

Confirmed. It is indeed the power for the windows' heat shield. These heaters are normally fine little wires made of gold that are laminated inside the wind shield. They are also the reason why aircraft wind shields are so expensive.

Thanks for checking on that for me. Much appreciated. If you would, ask her where the other end plugs in and the type of connector on the end of the cable.
XLR, phone plug, etc.
Thanks!

By the way,
this small metal flap box just above the boom mike insert is not an ashtray, is it???
Cheers Chris

The cable on the B737-500 doesn't have plugs on either side of the cable. I've included a photo for you to see. Both ends look the same. I guess the earlier models and the 727 probably looks the same.

This pictures is basically behind the F/O.

I own the same ones. Ive found them on ebay. A seller called blacklincoln sold multiple sets of them.

Thanks for the photos Fritz. I guess I'll just drill a hole and epoxy the cable in place.
On some (maybe all?) 727's there are small discs attached to the window at the aft edge on #2. I've seen them on #4 & #5 too. I think these are thermocouples or thermistors to detect an overheat condition and trip off the window heat.
I haven't worked on modeling these yet, but I have a few good photos of them for down the road.
