Well, its about time i introduce myself, since i already signed in one month ago.

Im Alex from Lisbon - Portugal, 30 years old, more or less i allways had aviation as part of my life (several friends are pilots for TAP) and im trying to build a full scale A320.

Its been almost 2 years since i started with that insanelly motivating idea of transforming part of my office in a flight deck (my wife was weirdly understandable, so i might just found a F/O...), and the last 2 years were more or less dedicated to investigate, and learn an aughfull lot of expertises that, to the day most of them still remain a mistery to me (hopefully i'll correct that with your help). Its a complex subject that involves a very profound knowledge, cause lets face it..pilots are not suposed to know how to build their birds!..i guess thats exactly what makes it so motivating, the learning curve and the rewards that come with that... and that my friends, its probably what keeps us going and what makes this hobbie such an overwhelming experience..(at least i hope so cause im starting to get insane with all those cables and wires, and toggles, encoders and....jezzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......) People like Matt Olieman and his work are trully inspiring, and thats exactly what im aimming for.

As i said, i really just started right now, i already built part of the MIP structure and pedestal, and i bought the full pedestal set, efis and fcu from TIM (warvet) ..so im waiting for those parts to arrive to start some serious work.

Right now ill leave you with an image of my mdf panels and pedestal structure (which i have to rebuilt in order to be as faithfull to reality as i can)

Its nice to be here and to be able to share some madness with all of you.

Let insanity start..... Cheers to all

Alex

Who says pilots are not supposed to know how to build their planes?

Alex, welcome aboard and our insane hobby :) :) :)

Thanks for your kind words regarding my project, but many have surpassed my building quality and detail. Lot's of fellow builders to learn from and am glad you can join us.

Looks like you're on a good start.

Again, Welcome,

Matt Olieman
