Hi everyone.
This is my first post so be gentle. :)
I'm building a fairly basic 737NG set-up, unfortunately on a tight budget.
I'm using the freeware PSPanels 737NG panel and I would like to know if I can control the EHSI Control Panel with the standard assignments in FS2004 or by using FSUIPC. I can make the panel and the switches and everything and connect them to my KB encoder, it's just the control assignments i'm unsure about.
Hope that makes sense, i'm pretty new to all this but very keen to learn.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Colaboy.

Welcome Colaboy,

You learn something new everyday, I've never heard of PSPanels (perhaps because I'm not an NG driver) but having looked at their offering I'm well impressed! Even though it's a few years old, it's an extensive addon panel, and has a very informative manual.

In answer to your question it doesn't appear that they have incorporated any external key assignments for use with hardware switches etc. unlike PMDG. However most functions should respond to the standard FS key assignments. If you look in the FSUIPC documentation you'll find a full list of available functions and their offset values. You can use your keyboard encoder to activate the standard FS assignments eg. "G" for gear toggle, or utilise the more extensive range offered by FSUIPC, which for example will allow you to assign one switch for gear up and another for gear down.

There is also an extensive range of functions to control the autopilot and perhaps some functions on the EHSI. However all is not lost in any case, FSUIPC allows you to activate mouse actions and assign them to a hardware switch. This way you can get access to all functions the panel allows.

Good luck and have fun,

Ken.

Hi Ken.
Thanks for the welcome and the response.
I never thought about mouse capture.
I only have an unregistered version of FSUIPC at the moment so I have not tried that, but I fully intend to buy it.
Again, thanks for the advice.
