View Full Version : Rudder Relapse!

I'm suddenly having trouble with my rudder pedals (ch pedals).
I have 2 specific issues.

1. They keep fluxuating side to side even when I'm still. I know this is because the pedals themselves are giving flutter. This makes it very difficult to steer as I'm sure you can imagine. How do I adjust the sensitivity in FSUIPC for this? I always had them adjusted thru FS directly.

2. When I press a pedal and hold it, it will stay for about 5 seconds and then the control surface and nosewheel will release and pop back to center where it flutters as #1 above. This one has me stumped. I've already checked the 'repeat while in range box' in FSUIPC but its not fixing the problem. And of course, this compounds the steering problem.

Help please.

Check your realism settings and make sure you didnt inadvertantly turn on Autorudder.

This happened to me before. I think if you go to defaults it will set Autorudder on.

Thanks. Just checked. Autorudder is off. Good thing I looked anyway. My mix was set to auto.

Any other suggestions?

Andy,
As far as I know there is no axis sensitivity setting in FSUIPC as you calibrate the axis minimum and max. That said, FS game control is not also trying to control your rudders? FSUIPC does not "Poll" for changes rather it waits for them to be sent by the device. That would lead me to believe that there is a hardware problem either with a pot going bad or the controller card itself. Perhaps opening up your pedals and inspecting for dust and removing one pot at a time from the controller may lead you to the culprit. That is of course if the pots are plugs rather than soldered to the controller. Hope that helps some.

Make sure FS did not add a axis since you are using FSUPIC. I have had axis in FS magicaly appear before.
