I'm looking for a small touch screen monitor to use for an FMC panel, as I don't currently have the money to plug for the one from Engravity. Or any of the other ones out there at the moment. Problem is, is that I am running my cockpit on one computer using a dual output card, with four monitors through Matrox TH2G. So I would need one that would be USB only. I don't know where to start looking for something like this. All I'm able to dig up is stuff for cars, and that's not what I want. I would like to find one for around 150 bucks if at all possible, but it seems like it's hard to find what I'm looking for. I can't use one with computer hookup, because I have no more available ports. Anyone know how to point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Nick

I am aware of 7" / 8" touch screen VGA lcd monitors and usb lcd monitors, but not usb touch screen lcd monitors. Does any of your video cards have TV out (RCA) that can be used? Most of those small touch screens have TV (RCA) inputs. I am not sure if it would work and at what resolution you would get.

I have made my own touchscreen recently. I used a kit from TouchKit and I'm impressed by the functionality. I use it for the whole FMC pushing buttons directly on the screen. The accuracy is down to a few millimeters, so I can also manage the radios with the back of a pen if wanted. Check out their product page. I bought it from a lockal dealer.

Maybe something like this would help (VGA to USB Adapter) http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3484434

Why not put in another graphics card?

currently I have 3 in my system, this allows me to use one card for two touchscreens that i own :)

Hey Mr. Roper!
Multiple graphics cards - a method I am hoping to implement! Are they all the same type of card? Have you have many problems getting it to work at all? I'd be interested to hear your experience with that setup...

Thanks,
Nigel.
