After seing Mike's new engine cluster I went back to pictures that haunted me for months and the idea to build a classic 737...Is'nt that beautiful???

This last pic is from a real 737 but the effect gives a good indication of what simulated gauges would look like

When I was considering a classic 737 I asked quotes from Flightillusion and the cost was substantial but within the price of a regular car!!
Banks finance cars (or used to until recently) but hardly a project like that!!! lol

First off Brian what the heck is an OP lol :) Secondly I have to agree mikes 727 panels guages look absolutely stellar using the LCD process and a darn sight cheaper than the individual guage idea. The price to do individual guages is so cost prohibitive not even worth discussing for the avg builder. But a couple LCD of varying sizes could pull that off incredibly well. Only trick is to carefully plan the LCD sizes ie a 10-19-32 ect to whatever will work. I think in my opinion it would defnitely allow an affordable solution to breathe life back into the classics.Truly Mike is the man to watch with this type of thinking. JMO

Yes, it is a lot of work, but if you really want it, you can do it.

I think the biggest problem for this kind of display is having exact measurements of the panels you chose to use. There is a lot of stuff in the way on a Boeing analog panel and the panels have to be as precise as possible.

Having those exact measurements is not always possible so work-arounds have to be made and sometimes unwanted compromise.

This is one of the many reasons I chose the 767. Although not a true classic Boeing, it does still have many glass instruments but the advantage of CRT displays too! The best of both worlds if you ask me!
