Hi,
I am trying to add 2 links to the Links section. The URL Verification process does not always work. It is giving the following error: "1. The URL you entered is not valid. Please make sure that you have entered a valid URL."
The links I am trying to add under the Electronics section is:
http://www.rs-components.com/index.html. I tried a few variations but no luck. Then I also tried http://www.ellieavionics.com in the Avionics section without success.
I did succeed earlier with the submition of the Sim Avionics web URL.

fweinrebe,
Ive tried a trace useing Dnsstuff and get the message Sorry, I could not determine the IP for rs-components.com (error 11004). while tring a vector trace to rs-components.com
Theres a DNS error with this site
<TABLE cellPadding=2 width="90%" align=center border=1><TBODY><TR><TD style="MIN-WIDTH: 6%" align=middle width="6%" bgColor=yellow>WARN</TD><TD width="15%">CNAME Lookup</TD><TD>WARNING. Your web site (www.rs-components.com (http://www.rs-components.com)) has a CNAME record pointing to netstorage.electrocomponents.com.edgesuite.net.. That by itself is confusing, but acceptable. However, the CNAME record in this case causes an extra DNS lookup, which will slightly delay visitors to your website, and use extra bandwidth.</TD></TR><TR><TD style="MIN-WIDTH: 6%" align=middle width="6%" bgColor=red>FAIL</TD><TD width="15%">Domain A Lookup</TD><TD>ERROR: I couldn't find any A records for rs-components.com. But I did find a referral to www.rs-components.com (http://www.rs-components.com). (and maybe others). If you want a website at rs-components.com (as well as www.rs-components.com (http://www.rs-components.com)), you will need an A record for rs-components.com. If you do not want a website at rs-components.com, you can ignore this error.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Ive sent a message to the Tech to sort this out

Dee,
thanks for the quick feedback. What I've done in the meantime was to use that domain and click my way to the UK website of RS Components. Then submitted that URL instead.
Any idea why the second one does not work? It is a ASP.net website and I tried a few pages on the site with no joy.

Flight team,
It also appears that they have DNS issues they also do not have a mail server configured (no MX records) to get intouch with them.
<TABLE style="WIDTH: 441px; HEIGHT: 329px" cellPadding=2 width=441 align=center border=1><TBODY><TR><TD style="MIN-WIDTH: 8%" width="8%">MX</TD><TD style="MIN-WIDTH: 6%" align=middle width="6%" bgColor=red>FAIL</TD><TD width="15%">MX Category</TD><TD>ERROR: I couldn't find any MX records for ellieavionics.com. If you want to receive E-mail on this domain, you should have MX record(s). Without any MX records, mailservers should attempt to deliver mail to the A record for ellieavionics.com. I can't continue in a case like this, so I'm assuming you don't receive mail on this domain.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><TABLE cellPadding=2 width="90%" align=center border=1><TBODY><TR><TD style="MIN-WIDTH: 8%" width="8%">Mail</TD><TD style="MIN-WIDTH: 6%" align=middle width="6%" bgColor=red>FAIL</TD><TD width="15%">Connect to mail servers</TD><TD>ERROR: I could not find any mailservers for ellieavionics.com.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
If you use the Ip of the srv http://24.18.229.104/ it will diplay the site.
I know the issue they are having but basicly DNS/MX has failed/blocked.
