Hmmm, wondering if anyone has any intelligence for how to get this screen working. I am hoping to use this old acars screen on my pedestal, to have an extra screen for squawk-box and other useful stuff when flying. Or just for internet radio or something:). Can be useful with an extra screen for sure.

I could use an ps1 screen inside here, but will have some gaps then. Hope to avoid that. Has anyone connected aircraft screens before and how did you do it? The screen itself has a 24 pin connector. But not sure if I have to use the box with all stuff inside and connect through the round connector, or just use the 24 pin connector on the screen and some other cable for the backlighting.

If this screen is possible to use at all. I dont know, and any help will be much appreciated:). Some pictures:

The unit itself uses a ARINC protocol.
Arinc 429 in this case.

I think that pretty much rules out connectiong it from the connector on the rear using the internal electronics.

I tried to find info on the epson screen, but i couldnt find anything there.

modelnumber and partnumber didnt return any hits in google....so it might be a custom made screen. In that case i think there's not much of a chance of interfacing this specific screen.

Can you identify any of the driver ic's on the lcd ?

Thanks for helping, Stef:)

I also tried to google all the numbers, but nothing of interest in return;)

Actually not so easy to locate the IC. There are 7 boards with electronics, all connected to a "bridge-board". Have no clue of where I can find the driver IC to the screen, lol.

I am afraid too, that it can be a custom made screen. It is also a infrared controlled touch screen here, but that will be way too much to ask help for, lol.

Here is an ARINC tutorial and overview.

Thanks for helping Michael:). But I didnt get any smarter of this, lol. Way beyound my skills for sure. I will let my brother have a look at this and see if he understand how to use this.
If he shakes his head, then maybe I just scratch-build a new bezel for a ps1 screen. I dont want to put a ps1 into this original unit. Better to swap the collins with a 767 builder then;)
