Hi,
Im looking to build a flight yoke for my Cessna 182, and id like to know what mechanisms are best to be able to build it. The fact that you need to be able to pull and push and go from side to side is actually harder than i thought, the axes arent a problem, what is a problem is being able to spring load everything so that everything returns to center from all axes.
There are many posts regarding control columns and yokes on here but are all mainly 737 based, and there is nothing on this site refereing to building GA yokes.
I have a CH yoke at the moment, i understand the pull and push function of it but it doesnt 'turn the pole' left and right it just 'turns on the pole' left and right in which there is a mechanism actually in the flight yoke handle itself that is spring loaded, and will prove to be a tricky build doing it this way.
Id like to build a yoke that that 'turns the pole' and 'slides the pole' back and forth etc unlike the CH way.
Ive search hi and low for this on google and the rest of the net including on here, the closest i have come to mechanism ideas is on 'mikesflightdeck' website, but it doesnt really show you in detail how to build his tricky yoke, id very much like something simple in design and im going out my mind trying to work out how to do this effectively.
I really need your help?
Any ideas's on mechanism's, photos's etc.....
Many many thanks!
