Hi All,

Just a heads-up. I am also implementing the aft overhead and are writing software for the IRS display. Because similar looking hardware is hard to come by, I am using the Phidgets LCD board. Its size seems to fit well. I have asked Project Magenta Support for the missing offsets to control the display (DISPL SEL). I'll keep you posted when I have something to show.

Best regards,

Hi All,

This weekend I picked-up the Engravity Aft Overhead kit. I assembled the part with the IRS panel and connected the four selector switches and tentatively attached the Phidgets LCD display. I tried a new method and I am using now the analog inputs to read the selector switches. All it takes is a couple of resistors and a few lines of code in the panel program. This works out great. Since this display is far capable compared to what is a real IRS unit, it will always display on the top line the IRS position. On the second line it will display whatever is selected with the DSPL SEL switch. Once I find proper switches for the numeric keypad, I will add this as well. Here are couple of pictures:

Once I have the programming finalized, I will add it with a description to my web site. Comments are welcome.<O:p</O:p

Hi All,

Since I have done most of the work of assembling the Aft Overhead Panel and are done with the software for the IRS Panel, I have, as promised, updated my web site. All the information and software is there. If you have questions and/or requests I'll hear from you.

Best regards,
