Hi Michael.
Thankyou very much.
I was looking at your 727 sim, fantastic.
Whats it like to fly, if you dont mind me asking.
Jake.

Hi Jake.

The key word in your question was 'fly'.

You really do have to fly this aircraft and know how to navigate it. There is no FMC aboard and only a rudementary split-axis autopilot. This aircraft is so primitive, the Go-Around buttons on the throttles only command the pitch bar on the ADI flight director...and that's on the 'Advanced' 727. You get to do the Go-Around. The best part of flying this aircraft are the departure and arrival procedures. Just like in real-life though, you have to be the Master of this aircraft and not a passenger sitting in the left seat along for the ride pushing buttons. You have to have a mental picture in your head of where you are at all times and be ahead of the aircraft by at least 15 miles. You'll cover seven of those miles in a minute.

I wish you'd have been here last night while I was shooting the full ILS28 CATII at Klangenfurt. It would have really made you appreciate hand-flying a big passenger jet (and at night no less). I'm not trying to sound like I'm bragging, because I'm not. It's just that there is no other way to fly this aircraft. You either learn fly it or you'll crash. At the least, you'll be lost.

It's a pilot's dream to fly as long as you don't get low and slow with the engines spooled down. It's highly manueverable at low speed; the wing area and camber nearly doubles at 40° flaps but you have to learn to anticipate the aircraft for setting power and know when to push 'em up or back it off.

I have studied this aircraft until I can't learn anymore unless I were to attend formal ground school training and in-flight training and I love it.

There is no other airplane in the world that I'd rather fly than the 727.

Sounds fantastic, I love to fly hands on, when I fly the 747 I try to use as little automatic systems as I can. I feel the same way with the 747 as you do with the 727. I really love it, nothing else I wanna fly.
I like all the Boeing airliner fleet.
But your sim is fantastic, well done.
Jake
