Before upgrading from FS9 to FSX there are some things I need to do.
- Backup of my FS9 folder and settings
- Backup of all PM folders on all machines
The interesting part:
- Install FSX
- Upgrade FSUIPC and WIDEFS
- ?What to do with my PMDG air file, as:
Can the PMDG 737NG and/or PMDG 747-400/400F be used in FSX:
===========================================================
Neither of these products was designed for FSX. They are both compatible only with FS9.1 and cannot operate in the FSX simulation environment.
What would you advise me to do? Use the 737 of FSX?

I have found the default FSX 737 darn near as good as the PMDG! It is so close i can't really tell a difference. ALL i used to fly was the PMDG -800.
FSX is working well with PM software by the way. I won't be going back to FS9 for sure now!

Hi Kester, the Kittyhawk 737 has a FANTASTIC air file, try it out and let me know what you think. Available here...

I believe PMDG are producing 737NGX for FSX, don't know how long it will be though. I won't be switching until it's ready.

Well I think the problem us multi computer builders are going to find with the new PMDGX is that they are more then likely going to go the same rout they went with there 747 we won't be able to take the panels out and use it. Now this is just what I think they are going to do, I do not know this to be fact. I may start the switch over to FSX this winter we will see..

other rumours are, they might make it interfacable.
On of their team members once suggested it in their forum, but no garantees were given.
Lets just wait and see. Im looking forward to the NGX, even if its just for my desktop.

I feel the same way. Although I am now a true Lear convertee, I plan to keep a joystick sitting at the instructor's console for those days where I want to fly something over than the LJ45. I really look forward to the NGX.
