Hello everyone,

As I announced earlier, here is a gauge set aimed at propeller aircraft (single or twin piston/turbine).
It's customizable in a few ways, check the readme file.
Tell me what you think, here it is: GenericGaugesV2.1.zip (www.jeehell.org/GenericGaugesV2.1.zip)

I used to enjoy a gauge called something like Fuel stat, which gave fuel burned, fuel left, distance to go, time to go ,etc, very handy for flight planning.
If you could do something like that, usable on a network.(outside of FS computer).would be great!

Hi JeeHell

To cool, keep up the good work. Guess what most people still nedd is the VOR's.

Hope to see more from you.

Cheers Norbert

It sounds feasible but, is it on an analog gauge ort rather a 7 segments display on which you can shuffle the data to show? I can't picture the gauge?

Gauge file attached

This is it. Actually just the top rectangular screen would be enough so that we could place it behind a panel cutout.
The buttons could be mouse sensitive and interfaced with the new FSUIPC "keymouse" option.
They read:
Fuel flow __ Remaining ___ Used___ Time avail ___ distance to go

(The last two being average based on instant fuel flow, very useful when adjusting power in cruise for efficiency)

Yellow digits would be better. Turning red when low fuel.

Just an idea???

Hello,

I've just added the fuel Stat gauge Jackpilot described.
It uses an FSUIPC offset to shuffle between modes, otherwise works just like JackPilot description!

Enjoy ;)

Hi all, Hi Jeehell,

first of all thanks for sharing your software with the community. You must know many people appreciate this.
However, (just probably me), yesterday I put the generic instruments on one of my PCs
The window with all buttons opened and I selected two or three instruments. The windows opened and out came some garbled display. The I selected the checkbox with 'masked'. Closed the program and opened it again. Now the instruments showed up nicely. Then I opened up some more and resized. Also I changed the antialiasing to 4x I think. I could not find eng2 info so I read the readme and I had to change the config.ini. So I closed, modified the config.ini for 2 engines and started up again. But now I only got the sides of the windows and an error with read violation on atiglxx.dll. Then I closed the program via the taskbar. Started it again, same problem. Closed again via taskbar. Started it again and clicked the OK button to remove the error box but it reappeared. The suddenly some ticks in the audio of the PC, and the famous windows blue screen. I restarted my PC. All ok, then I removed some file with windows.cfg that your program had created and tried to start it again but the window with the buttons to open up the instruments dissapeared as soon as I started the program....weird....

Hello,

That for sure is weird :)

Try deleting everything then re unzipping the zip.
What OS are you using? XP, vista, 32 or 64 bits? might be a clue.
What video card? if it's an old one it might not support anti aliasing.

Hi jeehell

It was on a Pentium 3Ghz, about 4 years old and geforce4 graphic card, a medion PC.
The OS is windows XP service pack 2
So I guess this is not that old. I might give it a try again. That an error appears I dont fear...
but that windows blue screen with indication of corrupt interrupt table worried me.

Greetz Peter

PS : i'll give it a try again with v2

Hello,

I've corrected a few bugs, with windows not showing up or showing blank.
New link GenericGaugesV2.1.zip (http://www.jeehell.org/GenericGaugesV2.1.zip)

As for the blue screen error I sincerely have no clue. It never happened on my system, even when opening/closing several times in a few minutes...
The garbled screens and the "error with read violation on atiglxx.dll" makes me think it's related to your video card. You can try to update your drivers, it's never a bad idea...

Hello Jeehell,

could you implement the feature to rotate the Stby Gauges as well as the ND or PFD?
That would be great!

Best Regards! Marco

I'm not sure I fully understand?:(
I think every gauges I provide (A320FMGS, A320 stby and generic annalogs) can be rotated?
(you have to right click then rotate clockwise or rotate CCW)
Maybe you are referring to another function?

Cheers,
JL

Thats the problem, I have downloaded Version 2 of the A320 STBY Gauges and there is no feature available on right click!
Maybe a older Version I have downloaded?

The latest version is V2.1, I've just checked, its availble in it ;)

Ok, I have downloaded and tested it, but there are not all the instruments available as in version 2.
e.g. DDRMI, ISIS, Altimeter in ft....
this are the instruments I need to rotate.

Thanks!

Wow OK, then you're not in the right topic :D
This one is for General Aviation, only analog gauges ;)
Check that thread: http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php/15597-A320-Stand-By-gauges latest version is 3.3.

Cheers ;)

Can someone (not you JeeHell - I don't want to distract you from more important things) give me suggestions how to get Generic Analogue Gauges working on a second PC for FS9? I already have A320_FMGS Gauges working well on a second PC with the appropriate settings on Starter.ini and Configure.exe - but can't see how GA Gauges link to FS9. For example, there doesn't appear to be any method of letting the client see the server in config.ini.

FSWide is installed and configured and shows a connection between the FS9 host and the client PC, but the GA Gauges don't seem to get activated.

Thank you for the gauges! Works great with turboprops. Is it possible to adjust the refresh rate? It would be nice to have more fluid motion.

Hello,

@Karla: The GA gauges only use FSUIPC, they are not linked to my A320FMGS software in any way. To use on a remote computer, you only need a registered WideFS and it should work straight out. I do not know why it wouldn't work?

@Rotorhub: there is no settings regarding the FPS. How many gauges are running at the same time? This is a very old software of mine, not really optimized. When too many gauges run, there are slow downs.

JL

I mainly use the engine gauges, fuel, amps. Not the flight instruments. But I use dual gauges for the King Air, so it is many gauges.
Refresh rate is not a very big issue, since these are one of few gauges that actually have a decent turboprop instrument in a network enviroment. It is very stable software, not a crash or freeze once. Thanks again!

If you ever would do some refactoring one the gauge code, then perhaps...

Thanks JH I got them working on FSX now. I forgot that FSUIPC also needed WideFS on the client side. I am probably going to concentrate on FSX rather than FS9 from now for several reasons - among them is that I find your A320 FMGS easier to manage under the built-in SimConnect.

Is there a method by which one can dial in VOR and ADF frequencies without using a Radio Stack on the FSX host computer? Of course one can hit C for Comms frequency and =/- key for increase/decrease and CC for decimal; similarly with N and NN for Nav frequencies, X for switching standby. But how does one know what frequencies are set - is it possible to read the frequencies on a Client PC?

Hi,

You have to use FSUIPC offsets for that, eventually using wideFS on the remote computer.

I've just found FSRemote, which more than does the job for me FS Remote 2.0 for FSX (http://www.flightsimworld.com/downloads/viewfile/1725.html) (unfortunately The Gauge Factory gauges give an inconsistent display on my iPad using AirDisplay).

Hello,
I have been building now on my Beech Baron 58 FSX Home Cockpit for a year and the result feels quite amazing. But now I wanted to change it into a turbprop and have been looking for months for the instrument gauges - very difficult to find.

Your system is really amazing. Unfortunately my already drilled holes for the instrument gauges are not that large and your instruments tend to be not any more readable when you resize them to 3 cm in size.Is there a chance that you go for a new release or have some other tricks?

And if you happen to look for new gauges to build - I would be very very happy to get my hands on a wet compass - have not find anything yet to be used over wideFS. Would appreciate that very much!

Best regards from Vienna
Alfred

Hello

I'm sorry but I dropped all support and enhancements on this software which is "as is" now.

You may want to try those:

Thanks, I can understand. Gaugesfactory is just wonderful, but I can not use the engine gauges for the King Air,so have to find something different.
