Hi, Just a couple of dimentions i can't find:
> Height of the mip (not including the angled brightness control panel on the bottom of the mip) to the far top of the mip where it meets the glaresheild and autopilot but not including them.
> The angle of the Pedestal FMC raised area going up to the MIP.
> The length of the pedestal *not* including the Angled FMC area.
And is the total height from the floor to the far top of the glaresheild in the middle just 99cm? Can anyone confirm that one.
These measurements would be realy helpful to me planning my MIP design so if anyone wouldn't mind taking a couple of measurements of their own or know a site where some or all of these can be found please contribute.

1) 350mm
2) 30 degree slope
3) Pedestal - are you meaning the radio portion or right upto the TQ?
4) upper edge of glaresheild is 1085mm

IMO, It is the 3rd most usefull site I have bookmarked regarding cockpit building, behind Ian Sissions site in 2nd place !!!

By the way does anyone have the angle of the brightness adjust panel that is angled off the bottom of the MIP. I can't seem to find that on any of the links.
The answer is easy when you know, so a quick fast response from someone in the know would be massively appreciated. My MIP designing grinds to a holt. Time for a cuppa whilst i wait for a response :)

Hmmm good question - think its time to dust off my maths skills for this one !!!
The site shows the height of the light panel as 95mm. (Which actually starts about 40mm below the bottom of the MIP with a curved panel in between see http://my.opera.com/larseld/albums/showpic.dml?album=44181&picture=517559 for a good example)
According to the flightdeck, floor plan section, the bottom of the light panel is 90mm aft of the MIP,
So presuming you are drawing to scale, find the point at which the panel height of 90mm finishes 90mm aft of the MIP then measure the angle
That should ;-) work!!
Looking at it I would guesstimate at approx 140 degrees, 120 from vertical??

LOL, i've just had to do that too. Trigonometry for the side lengths.
And i have Spoken to Ivar Hestness and he says the angle is the same as the CDU/FMC pedestal angle. The pedestal and the brightness panel are parallel.
Thats mean the angle of the Brightness panel is 30degrees. Which looks about right drawing it out to scale.
Thanks for your help Jon, looks like carol vorderman will not be needed, as thrilled as she might have been at the prospect of some work. :o
PS: If anyone knows the angle the glareshield is upwards then please let me know.

well 30 degrees from horizontal, would be 120 degrees from vertical - so it was not a bad guess and that was without a pencil and paper !!!!

Yep, i understood that your 120 was the same as the 130 angle. Thanks for your help through that dilemma.

Hello Gents,
got to check a few items, ( distance between windows post might be inaccurate ) but most drawings are close to the real thing.
html page have been replaced with a .doc or .pdf
so open and save or just "save as" to get the info.
its about 60pages so you only need to print what you need.
will eventually add a "distance" on top of photos file to supplement the "distance" on tech type drawings.
lots of info to confuse you all LOL.
the more you put into your sim the more problems you'll get :(
anyway hope the new website & .pdf file fills in the gaps.
