Hi, I'm new to this. I have been flying with FSX for about two years, I am still only scratched the surface in this wonderful world of flight simulator.
I have reached a point where I have installed triple 22" monitors and yolk with pedals and multiple throttle. I would like to take it further and build a flight simulator cockpit. My system is Windows 7 which I have just installed, I use i7 triple core, generally most software I install for FSX works well, but I have found most of the software downloads work better with XP systems, it's very difficult to get good add-on for my system.
Hope I will be able to get round some of my problems from you.

Do you have a specific a/c type in mind, or are you going generic?
Odd that your programs run better in XP??? Any examples?
And isn't the i7 a quad core? You mean one with triple channel memory ;)

What type of Simpit are you considering?
hi, at the moment I'm not sure which direction to go in regards building my simpit, I like flying commercial airlines, if I decided to build a simpit along those lines it would be a lot more complex and bigger, a lot of people have told me it would be simpler to build a single engine system and still use the setup for commercial airlines mainly because it doesn't take up that much room also without having to have all the complicated system for multiple engines, I am still looking at some of the home flight simulator simpits and getting some ideas as to which way to go.

hi Sean, sorry never got back straight away, being away over the weekend.
Sorry didn't explain my system properly.
Processor Intel(R) Core (TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz 2.67 GHz
RAM 3.00 GB
system type 64- bit operating system
have also installed Windows 7.
I like the system I have, but as I said I found out that a lot of add-on running to problems with my system.
