I am new to this site. I am a pilot with about 200+ hours in a little Cessna 172. I am almost instrument rated. I have decided to build a cockpit in two forms to help keep my head in the plane while I travel and stay at home during bad weather.... portable and a full size. I have just finished my full size console and gauges with a radio stack and overhead projection. Now I am on to the portable version. I am going with a combination of parts for the portable version: vrInsight Micro ProPit for the gauges and phidgets dual analog stick and phidgets 8/8/8 board. If I get the joystick from phidgets to work, I will begin to build small switches and small rudder control. I will let you all know how it goes.

Hello Paul,

Where in Wisconsin? I am in Northern Illinois. I also am just on the final leg of getting my instrument rating in a G1000 equipped C172.

Scott,

I fly out of Timmerman Airfield MWC. I have been out of the cockpit for a couple of years, just when I was going to tkae the practical for IFR. I hope to get back into it again. I am doing a BFR right now, which will take about 2 hours per year out for ground and 2 hours per year out for flight training.

Fun stuff.

Paul
