Hi,

I intend to use a big LCD TV widesrceen as my external view.

The HD TV has a HDMI plug.

My video card has a DVI and a SVGA plug.

Has anyone done this.
Is it possible.
What do I need get the best connection between them.
What is the result, good or not?

If anybody has this setup please help and show some pictures.

Thanks,

I would think it depend on the resolution of the TV, acting as a monitor whether I would use that or not. What size is it?

The Lehkamps went to three large Sony TVs for use as external view monitors for their B767 sim. This was back in 2002. At the time, the move was an improvement over projection systems.

The performance of both projectors and TVs has improved since then, so their conclusions may no longer apply, but reading about their project may be of value to you.

I have connected my PC to a plasma using a DVI to HDMI cable before. You can buy those online. As far as the results, it depends on your PC and what resolution you run but I should work just fine. The DVI/HDMI connection should give you higher resolutions options than the VGA.

32" often are 720p. 32" 720p isn't what I'd recommend. I'd suggest you find a 1080p 32" if at all possable. It's probably cheap because it's 720p, not 1080p.

Off course it is good to view big size LCD Screen rather than small CRT screen. So it would be better for you if you have got LCD.
