Hi,
Thought id share this with you to show that from just using a poster, and materials laying around the house
the simple improvement made to my cockpit which cost nothing. (well i bought the poster a while back).
I did have to use my 22" screen to be able to display what i wanted leaving me with a 15" for the outside view.
I am still researching on how to approach my main build, should i build the mip etc myself (im not that bad with the old jigsaw:shock:) or i do like the fly engravity kits.
Anyway a few pics, please be gentle:)

It looks the business, most of my mip is cardboard printoffs and blutack lol it'll be upgraded eventually but i think using cheap materials to begin with gives the proper build a kind of "research and development"

Thanks for all your comments,
Matt, Yes may need to change the thread title soon lol
@ Sean, ahh the penny drops on me, Thanks for your help that day!!
Basically the top plates no longer are pre drilled so i drilled myself after confirming with robert and stef at fly engravity.
Very pleased with the panel although its a bit lonely on its own, it may soon have a friend alongside it lol

A few pictures of how yoke column was made:)
Materials = 1 x 3" soil pipe cut to required length
2 x 3" couplings (push fit to solvent weld)
5 x L brackets
A few wood screws and some nuts and bolts
The base is 18mm mdf with four spacers in each corner to lift it off floor a few mm for yoke wire to pass under
http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu321/ukv1566/Cockpit/IMG_4374.jpg
Attach one coupling to the base with wood screws and the nuts and bolts
http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu321/ukv1566/Cockpit/IMG_4366.jpg
For the top I didnt want to open my ch yoke and drill through it
voiding warrenty etc so i drew round the yoke onto an 18mm piece of mdf,cut this and repeated
and screwed these togetherleaving me with a 36mm yoke shaped base.
http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu321/ukv1566/Cockpit/IMG_4372.jpg
Side view
http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu321/ukv1566/Cockpit/IMG_4373.jpg
Then i attached the other coupling to this
http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu321/ukv1566/Cockpit/IMG_4368.jpg
Drill a hole through the back of the top coupling and a hole through the mdf base to hide the wire,
cut pipe to required length, paint ral7011, Job done:D
