Hello.

After moving my Cpt and FO Airbus PFD/ND to a new AMD II x4 620 quad core computer, I was interested in seeing how the computer was allocating CPU usage. I was amazed to see that running just one PFD/ND display, with nothing else runing was using nearly 50% of combined CPU usage. Task Manager was showing that one core was nearly runing at 100%

Is this normal?

I can run a host of other programmes on the same computer, including 3 displays from AST (EWD, SD and standy instruments), FS Communicator, SIOC, IOCard, Interface IT, PM FCU, sa_wxr and FS Flight Keeper and CPU usage doesn't even break into a sweat (around 11%).

I wonder if anyone can just run one window of PM's GC (PFD/ND) and see what CPU usage they are experiencing?

Darren Sugden

Hello Darren,
No it does not sound normal. Something else is taking resources
in Your PC. I have P4 1.2ghz for my PFD/ND and it works just fine.
Due to my setup I'm afraid it is hard to investigate my CPU usage,
but I try to check it asap.
Btw. how is Your AB pm software working? What ac model do You
use and how is Your ac operating with managed flight path?

Hello.
Thank you very much for your reply.
CPU usage can be found by simply opening up 'Task Manager' and clicking on the 'Performance' tab.
i am using Project Airbus for my a/c and Managed Mode is working fine. There is a problem when you ask the a/c to fly DIR to a waypoint in the MCDU. Approaching the waypoint, the a/c turns so as to approach the waypoint at tan angle it was expecting in the flight plan before you hit the DIR button on the MCDU.
