So im using PonyProg to flash my controllers and i have done it in the past but now for some reason its not working... I get a yellow flashing light on the COM board so i know something is working. Any ideas on what i could be missing? maybe a setting in ponyprog? My setting in Windows is
Bits per second 9600
Data bits 8
Parity None
Stop bits 1
Flow control None
In PonyProg i have
Serial
SI Prog API
COM1
nothing checked

What Controller you try to flash?
99% of all flash problems are faults on the PCBīs. Check every conection on the COM-Board and board you try to flash with a Multimeter. Check also your cabelīs.
If you dont find a fault post some pictures with high resolution.

So again i went slow and double checked my connections on the PCBs and every thing is like it should be. So there for i know its the Computer for sure well at least im 99% sure. Guess i wont really know untill i get this working!
And just double checking i shouldnt have to add 5 Volt power to the DO64 to program it do i?
Trevour,
Have you tried to flash with it connected to another pc.I know in the earlier days flashing problems were encountered and was overcome by using a diff
serial input on another pc.I know u say that it used to work, but some things change unkown to us or work by luck then finally they work no more.

thanks for the picīs.
The DOut looks good, the com you have self build that is hard to check.
Do you try the Echotest with the FSBus Software??
With that you can check the serial connection.

So Echo Test works like a champ and trying it on a 2nd computer still getting that -24 error! So... maybe it is the PCBs but yet i tested all the connections and it works fine so not sure

So instead of stopping at the error msg i clicked ignore and just kept clicking it and it started to flash it and in the end it said write failed but yet now the Green light on the DO64 is flashing now and it doesnt seem to be flashing in any pattern to show the CID its just flashing. i even tried to change the CID from 2 too 30 but yet the flashing is the same no change in the pattern any ideas?

Update I switched out the IC with another one and now there is a Solid Green light on, on the DO64. I was able to get 1 successful Write but yet went to read it and it shows nothing on it so there for it didnt flash it GRRRR. So i still get that -24 Error but i hit ignore and move on. But looks like i can read the IC butjust cant write to it...

UPDATE
I put in another IC and this time there was no green light and i got the -24 error still and the Flash failed but yet this time the green light started flashing again then stopped well... that was different! So i went into the CDK and gave it a CID and then the green light started flashing and counted to the CID number then stopped! So i hooked up some LEDs and IT WORKS! So i dont know where to try to explain on how it works when everything was telling me that it wouldnt but yet in the end it works now sooooo im ok with that thanks for your help guys!

Thanks ill try... here is a Question for you. Have you gotten any of the NAV/COM PCBs from Rob? If so do you know why there is a + Gnd and another prong for the LEDs on it? And do you know if i can hook that up to the DO64? Page 9 (http://www.rvdijk.nl/download/QI_RVD_737NG_NAVCOM.pdf) Also i HATE the 16 Pin connector being on the same side as the 7 segment displays. Im thinking about putting them on the other side to keep the wires in the back what are your thoughts?

Didnt know you had a web sight... Great pics and thanks for the idea of putting the black part on the 7 segment display side and pushing the pins all the way in to the other side and solder there. THANKS http://picasaweb.google.de/sgaert/Panels#5402930910843605730

But now flashing the Displays wont work GRRRR i really would like to figure out a way to fix this. Do you guys follow the same directions that is in the manual? So there for maybe it is my computer... Because i should be getting a write successful every time if not almost every time and not a write failed every time.

Could it maybe be the serial cable... Even though it does the echo test just fine?

So its not the cable! Do you guys know if i could wire this up and use it to program the ATTINY2313 instead of the COM PCB? I know some of the wiring is different but could this work? http://www.elektronika.lt/_sys/storage/2004/05/06/avr_prog.gif
