Good Afternoon!
First off, let me say that iv'e been around for a while and actually started with a CRJ project a couple years back. I ended up scraping that one since I had to move to Western Canada (CYYC). In the mean time, I was searching and reading about builders projects, products, etc. I've came to the conclusion that I am ready to construct my cockpit in the next coming weeks since Iv'e settled down here and will be at this location for long time to come.
I have a decent sized room for this project. It measures 12'X14' with a nice big built in closet which im thinking to use as my mount for the visuals. Iv'e been looking at various Aircraft and came to the decision that the CRJ wasn't a great platform to start out with. I want to go with somthing with availible parts and go with a cockpit that other builders are already constructing. This allows us to learn and teach eachother as well I could get advise from various resources. I am a Systems Consultant for an I.T company so I can get my hands on alot of new technology. (Which should be exciting)
In the mean time I am chooseing between the following platforms:
- 777
- 747
- 767
I will decide on the availability of measurements and/or documents about the certian model. The more I get of a specific aircraft the more likely I will build it. I love Longhaul aircraft. It's what I see myself doing on a Friday night (all night) flying from EGLL-VHHH ;) Although the Mrs. may say otherwise haha.
Anyway, If any of you have some valuable info about measurements to help get me started building with MDF and materials. Let me know, It would be appreciated.
Thank you all, happy flying!
