I was walking in the center of Piraeus (the port of Athens, Greece), when the phone rings. I stopped to in front f a pharmacy to talk to a friend of mine. Just in front of me was this advertisement label :idea::idea: so I took some pictures for you to see. It is simple....
Anyone tried something similar to create a projector screen ???
:D

Hiya,
I had exactly the same idea few weaks ago when I saw banner like this at a conference. I asked few people around and unfortunately they seem to be quite expensive from what I've found.
I had another idea though - Rolling window blinds :)
you can get them in interior design shops, hardware stores, IKEA etc. Most are made from slightly transparent and not very uniform fabric but if you look hard you can find thick white non-transparent ones as well. They come in diferent sizes and I had a look at 1.80m x 1.60m and it cost around 25 pounds in UK (B&Q).

I am projecting onto blackout blinds at the moment and they give a very good image.

Glad you like it :)
Just make sure they are non-transparent (full blackout) to get the best picture brightness and screen stiffness. Otherwise some of the light will go through the fabric and you'll loose a bit of brightness and contrast.
Good luck with your screen!

hi yes i have used this idea before in my living room. YES you can use full blackout blinds they work as good as a profesional projector screen the only thing is if the blind is left down pernemently the sides will start to curl a bit but i had my blind retract able from the cieling so this was ok as most of the time it was rolled up so it kept its shape. so yes this is a good idea and it does work :D

sorry i dont i done it about 5 years ago i haved moved since then i have 2 projectors still but i will when i finish it use them for my 737 project of wich they will be cast on to pure white 100% cotton sheet streeched out over a wooden frame and pinned for front windows view i will use a sheet because it is thin enough to use as a rear projection screen. screen will actualy be the windows then have projector strait to material for a perfect view this works excelent as long as you keep the room that the sim is in dark so you can not see any thing else but the projected image if you have a projector try it you will see what i mean
