Hello guys,

I'm now picking up work again on my A32X simulator, and a new idea just struck me.

Currently, with the exception of one couragious A32X builder, the Worldflight even has been dominated (atleast as far as the actual teams go) by yoke pits.

It's a little late to get in on being one of the 2010 teams, but I'd love to have a goal to work for next year.

Does anybody know where I could find the minimum requirments for a simpit to enter it? I know all the rest about finding a team, housing them, etc (I've had my eye on the event for several years), but I have no idea what requirments to build my sim arround.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I was also planning to get my cockpit ready to join this group (I also build a a320). This year I wont make it either but next year must be feasible.
I dont think there is a restriction on the cockpit. The only thing is that there are some longer flights which are normally out of a320 range.
However, I have made modifications and can fly the a320 elite business version which has extended center tanks with an additional 6000 kg of fuel.
Extending the range drasticaly.I think you can send them best a mail, ask what is needed to join them.
The problem is probably to find enough pilots to fly continously for the 7 days.

Gents,
I suggest to contact the organizers of the event Matt Sheil and Terry Scanlan, they will answer your questions:

Hi Guys,
Email me at admin@worldflight.com.au and I will send you the requirements.
Basicly as far as the sim goes it must be an FBT (Fixed Base Trainer) type of sim or above, a closed in style cockpit that can support
multi crew and connect to VATSIM.
Cheers,

Hi Guys,
I've taken on this challenge and I'm frantically trying to get my cockpit up to scratch in time for the event! I am not sure but I may be the A32X pilot referred to by Coolmanak above...

I am very hesitant to post this in such esteemed company and among the builders of so many cockpits FAR FAR better than mine but - I'm seeking crew for the event. I've got a list of about ten people so far from among my friends but already people are dropping out. I suspect I will retain a core group of about 5 pilots - not a lot really! Anyone interested???

The cockpit is based in my tiny horrible house in Aylesbury and you would be welcome to come visit beforehand (come and visit anyway! All are welcome). We have chosen Sightsavers as our charity. The current state of the build can be seen on Youtube here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ejuc1kjmOrQ).

Drop me a PM if you would like to know more, or check my website which is below...

Nigel.
