I mean its definetly a cheaper way to build a cockpit. I don't know, I was just wondering what you all think of it, good or bad and all that jazz.

I suppose it's all about how far you want to take it and what budget you have.

Personally, I don't see the point in all the 'shroud' other than to give you a place to mount your keyboards. I'm only making a panel rather than a whole cockpit but for me it's the ability to flip a toggle switch like in the real a/c which that doesn't give me. I could put my keyboard upright against a few books and get the same effect.

Just my opinion, how far you want to take a cockpit and when to stop is very subjective.

I totaly agree :)

I have passed from one monitor to the dual monitor setup in the beggining... then went to 4monitors setup... then to 6monitors setup... Then I realised that I had to go to the next level (MIP, TQ, Pedestal.... etc)... Such DIY solutions are ok and in my opinion a MUST for the begginer. One has to find if he or she wants to get serious in cockpit building the cheapest way possible. After that level there is no turning back I am afraid....
