Hello everyone,

I am just wondering how I'd go about programming a 4-position Rotary Switch (the IRS Mode Selectors on a Boeing 767 to be precise)?

I have the following utilities at my disposal:

- Registered FSUIPC
- Level-D 767 "Custom-Controls" Menu settings
- FSX (SP2) Default Controls

Any ideas? I ask because I am unable to do it with FSUIPC Mousetrapping (due the the fact that this is only effective with 3-position rortary switches). I am using the BU0836X Card.

Thanks alot,

Jack:D

Hello Jack.

Use the rotary switch as an encoder. See Ian Sissons' site 737ng.co.uk for a detailed explanation of how it's done.

I'm think of the possibility of FSUIPC Offsets though.

I think there are no FSUIPC offsets for this. I believe Ian's encoder solution is the way to go until you move to SIOC and Lekseecon. You can use the encoder inputs to trigger FSUIPC mouse macros or keyboard mappings to the Level-D controls.

Nico Kaan's freeware program "FSConv" provides offsets for the LDS767, including offsets for the IRS selectors.

Once you have installed the program, offsets are supplied.

Anyway, I have a question about the offsets themselves.

Say I want to program the "OFF" position using offsets. According to the FSConv Manual, it's "O" value is 4E, its "S" value is 2, its "T" value is RL and finally its "Bit" value is 0.

Using the above figures, do you know what I am meant to input into the FSUIPC Offsets boxes?

I don't use the LDS767 so I don't have that program. I'm sure Nico would advise.

Did you get a resolution for this?

Sorry, I'm very illiterate in FSUIPC offsets. What is a "resolution"?

also, Nico said that FSConv won't work with the BU0836X Card because the offsets are "too complicated".

He asked in Post no 7 if you solved (resolved or got resolution to) your problem :)

Sorry, by Resolution I thought he was referring to the "Bit" values involved with FSUIPC. In that case, no I have no got a resolution as of yet.
