Hi
Sorry if this thread is in the wrong part of the forum, its my first time at this sort of thing so please forgive.

I have just purchased the Opencockpits EFIS module and the documentation I can find has left me a little baffled due to the translations!

I wish to connect the module to FSX and the PMDG767 but I have no idea how to setup the SIOC server etc (is it required?).

This is my first step towards building a real world cockpit using hardware such as the EFIS......next I want to add the MCP and FMS CDU.

If anyone can give me guidance whilst taking the first tentative steps in this wonderful world of flight simming I would be very grateful.

If I can help anyone with mechanical engineering issues (CNC...CAD etc) please ask as I have many years of professional experience to share.

Kindest Regards
Mike

Sorry, just to confirm, are we talking about the PMDG747 or the LDS767? As far as I know PMDG don't do a 767 yet.

Hi Jack
My goodness.......I stuffed up.......its a Flight Ones Level-D 767-300 for FSX

My aircraft of choice is the PMDG 747 but so far have found no information on connecting the Opencockpit modules with this aircraft........hence the 767.

Not a good start.......but please have patience.

You are in luck then!

Nico Kaan (developer of Lekseecon) has producing some excellent Plug&Play Files for the Opencockpits EFIS.

First of all, make sure you have the latest version of "Lekseecon" (Nico's program) installed. Also ensure you have FSUIPC (un-registered) install properly, then install the latest SIOC.

Then, download the P&P Files here: http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=405

The P&P Files zip file comes with a full manual so it should be self explanatory from there.

if you have any problems running Lekseecon or the P&P Files I suggest you check out Nico's Lekseecon Support Forum on Mycockpit.org

BTW: I would 100% reccommend interfacing with the LDS767. Nico Kaan's Lekseecon coupled with SIOC is a very powerful match, and also if you don't fancy this there's always flexible FSUIPC methods.

Happy Flying!

Wow Jack
Many thanks for the info, will start searching it out.

Just one point.......install SIOC......is this the SIOC server software?

If so, this is where I have found difficulty following the 'translated' documentation.....very difficult to follow.

If it is the server software I have to install, is there a better set of step by step instructions?

Many thanks again for your time.

I think by "SIOC Server" you are referring to SIOC itself.

Just install the latest SIOC no problems. There is no need to install anything extra really, I didn't use the documentation at all.
