Cessna 182

Hello.

As the title says it I'll construct a cessna 182 home cockpit!:D

I'll use the carenado C 182 SkylaneII for software. But before I realy beginning a would'like to know if someone have some 182's plans!?
If no I gonna use some 172 plans!Or It's really the sames cockpit dimensions.?

For dimensional and operational info you'll be able to find everything you need on the link below...

Free Cessna Manuals (http://www.micro-tools.net/pdf/Cessna/)

The POH (Pilots Operating Handbook) will have cabin dimensions in it for (Loading and Balance) plus all the other info you'll need.
(Instrument Panel, Electrical, Lighting etc...)

The Parts Manuals will have all the parts of the aircraft. This is so much a what the part does description but more of catalog of parts should you need replacements (for the actual aircraft of course). However you will get really good drawings of stuff you'll need for your cockpit.

Placards (stickers that have to be placed for safety and operations purposes)
Controls and there connections (what goes where and what it's connected to)
Instrument panel layout (this isn't a dimensional drawing but you can extrapolate based on known info)
- Large Gauges are 78mm
- Small Gauges are 53mm
The gauge location (holes) then become your 'ruler'

Other flight controls to pay attention to in the parts manual
- Fuel controls (Fuel tank selector)
- Cowl Flap controls
- Wing flap controls
- Aileron and rudder trims
These parts are usually unique to the aircraft model so after you have selected which
version of the C182 you will need to pay attention to the parts that make it unique

Other places to look are (used) aircraft sale sites. There you will often find closeup shots of the various parts of the aircraft (Cabin/Cockpit/Instrument Panel etc). Great for seeing what the various
controls look like and their position in the aircraft. They also have in them the after market
stuff that you won't find in the Cessna Manuals. Every pilot adds his own custom instruments
and sometimes controls for his/her own needs. Especially in the NAV/Weather/Radio area.
Be sure though to see if there is a corresponding gauge (for your FS version you are using)
to match up. Often times an after market manufacturer as with Garmin (http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/intheair/) have quite a bit of
accessible info on there website.

And of course....

For all the been there done that stuff that us cockpit builders can help you with just do a search or post a question here. Many GA pilots (myself included) can be a big help in what you are embarking on.
