Hi!

I have the Compaq iPaq 3660 like this one:

It has a touch screen (no ****, sherlock) which I thought I'd love to use.

I tried to install one program to make it GPS/control panel, but my device was incompatible with it. It is quite old, so I think only way to make it work with FSX is to make it an external display, but how? It has windows mobile from ~2005 I think.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

P.S. I have made my switches work in FSX, still the potentiometers and the case:)

I'm using an iPaq in my cockpit as an external display, with "ShowText" to show the Radar Contact menu. You could use it to show any small but useful window I suppose.

The program i use for it is called "Sidewindow" and is installed on the PC it is connected to. It doesn't need anything installed on the iPaq itself. It's made by Innobec and isn't free, but not too expensive either. See

Hmm. Sorry then. I only use Windows 7 on my FS PCs. I'm running SideWindow off a WideFS client. I wouldn't use multiple windows or monitors with FSX in any case -- except via Matrox's TripleHead2Go, because of the resulting severe degradation in performance.

All my client Pcs are lesser animals and run XP. I see no need to ever "upgrade" them to Win7.
