This is my first post so hello everybody :)
I have taken the first steps to building a 737 cockpit, I have just purchased the PM Boeing software, I have come across Bob Scots PMDG SU3 update, when I run the program I am getting this message:
This program cannot update the installed version of PMDG B-737-600-700 because of the following reason:
E:\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT GAMES\FLIGHTSIMULATOR9\GAUGES\PMDG_ACS.gau: unknown version,"
I've had this error before and was able to put it right but I cannot remember what I did :(
I hope there is someone out there who can help :)

Hello Andi,
do you have PMDG installed already?

Hi Eddie,
I have the PMDG and I can see the PMDG_ACS.gau in the gauges folder, I decided to reinstall PMDG and start again and the same message pops up.
I got Bob Scott's SU3 patch from Project Magenta but they don't support it so I'm a little stuck.
All I want to do is install the PMDG British Airways Liverie and edit the .cfg so that the PM software fly's the plane, and the solution was found on this forum but it always referred to Bob Scott's SU3 mods.
Sorry for the long winded reply but I wanted to give you the full picture in case there was another way around this.
Thanks in advance for any help :)

Ok, let's make another approach.
Why PMDG ?
Because is a very good & realistic add-on aircraft
Why Project Magenta?
Because you need to have networked systems (PFD/ND, EICAS, CDUs, Overhead) contolled from external devices, like h/w MCP, CDU etc.
Why to merge PMDG & PM?
Because PM does not have a specific aircraft, realistic enought to complete the Boeing systems and flight model. PMDG completes this need.
So.........
Just make a copy of the existing PMDG 737-700,
change some data at aircraft.cfg, (so you can identify the new aircraft),
remove almost all panels from panel.cfg, because you don't need them, (PM's s/w replace them)
and choose this aircraft when flying with PM.
Good luck and enjoy your flights

Hi Eddie,
Thanks for taking the time to help out here, my original idea was to have the PMDG panels visble so that I was able access the radio stack and overhead panel with the PM s/w flying the plane... the cockpit hardware will be arriving soon so my current issue is only a temporary fix.
Anyway cheers again:)

:) Ok i can understand now !!!
Sorry but i can't help you on this, because i never used this mod to have both systems working together.
Maybe to search a solution between PMDG's updates for 737-700.
Have a nice week-end

Ok thanks anyway Eddie, my MIP and all the bits will be arriving soon so I'll soon be able to do without the PMDG panel.
Have a good week.
Andi :)
