pm were the best/only once upon a time.

we sorta owe them for the past and what they have done to allow us to build sims etc etc.

im sort of at my wits end with the product and want to either change to another companies product or select the best stable version and stick to that for a while.

what are the best versions you guys are using of boeing 737 suite?

im not even sure how i will get my hands on them anyway really.

i see a cdu version in the download section?

I have kept every update (that I have downloaded) since I bought PM back in 1999. I currently re-building my sim, so I don't have easy access to what versions I have or the current version I am using (which hasn't been giving me much trouble). If there is a version you want, I might have it.

My sim PC's are also disconnected at the moment during a tidy-up/re-build, but where the CDU is concerned, version 406 is the one that works best for me. For me, every version after that had problems with the route page and although I can still fly, I prefer to stick with 406. I have it if you need it.

As you say, you can download a lot of old versions by changing the filename of the download, but some are missing.

I am pretty sure I have every version since 2006-2007. I'll look here in a bit and list all that I have in the original zip file (download file)...

Just to add my comment... normally it is best you use the most current and tell us what is wrong, then it can be addressed.

If you use older builds make sure you don't mix them, as things will turn out strange... so downgrade them to versions at least from the same month/year... this is true for any combination of AP/FMC/GC and pmSystems and pmInstructor

... Indeed, and by using old builds it is not clever to expect
any support from PM, because they are allways working with
newest builds. I had to learn this myself and there are newest
AB type builds now and they work.

There are some new PM builds out as 02/05/11 for Boeing: GC484, MCP484, CDU 484, RCDU 484, PMSystems 176, and PMInst 126. There are also updates for other aircraft as well.

Hi Guys,

does anyone have experiences with the newest builds yet? Iīm considering to update my builds, which are partially 2 years old or even older, but I donīt want to mess up my system.

I know for a long time there long time been a serious problem with the route disappearing, which always kept me from uptadting. Has this problem been resolved with the newest builds?

Thank you!

As far as I'm aware, trying any build is simply a matter of dropping it's .exe and .dll files into the correct PM folder, overwriting the old one (which you should save a copy of elswhere). If you want to go back to your previous build, copy the build version you want back to the correct folder, overwriting the files again and you're back where you started.

Be sure to save all different versions of PM in their own folder when extracted (eg GC486, GC480) as the .exe file always has the same name (PFD.exe)

Hi Sean,

thanks for the info. Actually, I was aware of that. My question pointet more into the direction if the new builds are usable and worth downloading and installing.

@ all:
I gave it a try and installed the newest builds for Boeing GC, MCP and CDU (all 486 / Feb. 15. 2011) as well as PM Systems (180) and PM Sounds (108).
After doing 3 test flights, I found the new builds to be very usable so far. I did not go too deep into the FMC yet regarding things like fuel prediction, holding, fixes and route offsets, but for a "quick and dirty" flight everything was o.k. I found route waypoints to be shown as "fly-over" on the ND, but actually handeled as "fly-by" by the autopilot, which is after all better than the other way around.

There are a few new features and functions which I will have to test and get used to. This includes the new autopilot function which I did not use yet.
