For those who are not familiar with multi monitor setup with Matrox TH2Go:
I have made a video that explains some details about my setup.

There is also some info on how to setup triple scenery LCD display with triple fresnel lenses.

Thanks Vybhav,

I wasn't sure where I should post it.

Multi-monitor setups seem quite common now, but it took me quite some research and trials to get it right. I can imagine many cockpit builders face the same challenge, so I hope this video will help others to makes the step to multi-monitors a bit easier.

Roland,

Zeer mooi, vraag me af of het ook met mijn 20" widescreen monitoren zou kunnen werken en wat dan de diverse afmetingen zouden moeten worden.

Hi Roland and thank you very much for sharing!

I'm currently building my first homecockpit (B737NG) and at the moment Im working on the MIP and the next step for me is the glareshield and the visuals so I can start flying.

I didn't know about these lenses and I decieded right away to give this a try.. but Im going to use eighter 22" och 24" screens for visuals.. Do I need bigger lenses? I saw that the lens you used was the biggest.

Thank you very much and happy new year!

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

One of the limiting factors of the standard fresnel lenses is the max size that is available. The F550 is optimal for 19" LCD. (I actually cut about 13mm at each side to optimize them for 17". 20" may be just OK, but I'm afraid that the F550 will not cover a 22". Not sure if there are bigger high-quality lenses available. (Those TV magnifiers may work, but they often have rather coarse pitch). My website visuals section http://www.simprojects.nl/adding_a_freshnel_lens.htm lists another china lens maker, but I never had contacted them.

The drawings on http://www.simprojects.nl/3_lcd%27s_with_3_fresnel_lenses.htm show the distance I used. For finding the right magnification and setup, I made an adjustable jig to be able to tweak the monitor position, lens angle, distance to screen, ect. Keep in mind that this setup is only for a single seater, it cannot work for two person cockpit.

Happy New Year to you all!
