Unfortunately the funds for a CNC were not in the budget. I figured I'd give a go at it by hand. I still have a couple of cuts to make in the panel for the radio switches and flap/trim displays. The radios are full page sticker paper mounted on clear acylic. This way the radio text is backlit by the monitor through holes in the panel.
The indicator lights use a 1/4" diameter clear plastic rod that go from the monitor surface and extend through the radio panel about 1/32" (think Light Bright).
I used 3" OD ring cut from an inside PVC coupling fitting for the gauges and cutout acrylic sheet for the attitude and HSI covers. Washers are used for mounting the gauge encoders but may be switched out to plastic cutout pieces.
Clear sticker paper will be used for all the panel text and regular sticker paper for the engine gauges, fuel flow, hobbs meter, ect... Michael's had a matte finish spray on sealer for all the stickers. So they won't scuff and will be washable. Here's a couple of pics.
