I might be a newby to building, but I am a long time simmer. At this moment I am using X-plane, simply because I like the way the software works.

I am building a six lever throttle quadrant as a start, using two old Genius F-23 joysticks as a base, leaving two extra pots for rudder and aileron trim, plus sixteen buttons to be used for whatever. The products from Leo Bodnar are brilliant, but will be terribly expensive on this side of the world. My local electronics expert thinks it should work, as all the needed hardware is available on the sticks. Drawings have been done, and the cutting will be done on a laser cutter at the local polytechnic's "fablab".

I live in Bloemfontein, South Africa, where I am the GIS Manager at the local municipality.

Please pardon my English, not my first language.

Hi there and welcome. So that now makes at least three of us, .. although I am based in Holland and not in SA any more.

Thanks, I appreciate your offer.

Now completely off topic. Dont know if you have been on Avcom this afternoon, but sadly George Brink and his dad Oom Wally, passed away during the PTAR today. Apparently flew into powerlines somewhere between Koster and Swartruggens with the 182RG. I navigated for Deon Loots last year, and being longtime virtual campaigner myself, George asked me last year at Rustenburg whether I am flying pixels or metal at the pub the night before the first day. It is sad. Truly an officer and a gentleman.
