I might be a newby to building, but I am a long time simmer. At this moment I am using X-plane, simply because I like the way the software works.
I am building a six lever throttle quadrant as a start, using two old Genius F-23 joysticks as a base, leaving two extra pots for rudder and aileron trim, plus sixteen buttons to be used for whatever. The products from Leo Bodnar are brilliant, but will be terribly expensive on this side of the world. My local electronics expert thinks it should work, as all the needed hardware is available on the sticks. Drawings have been done, and the cutting will be done on a laser cutter at the local polytechnic's "fablab".
I live in Bloemfontein, South Africa, where I am the GIS Manager at the local municipality.
Please pardon my English, not my first language.
