I recently moved my sim cockpit into an airplane shell and am now using 4 monitors instead of 3. I have 2 32 inch LCDs in the front running on DualHead2Go and 2 27 inch LCD's on each side. I am having problems with getting the visual out the front windshield to look good. I am flying with FSX and I need the centerline of the runway to be more in the middle of the left screen and not lined up with the exact middle, it puts it right where the 2 screens split. I have tried virtual cockpit and moving around in it, and I have tried the cockpit view and moving the eyepoint around, but I cannot seem to get it looking good. The cockpit view would work the best if I could turn the eyepoint a little to the left, but all I can get it to do is snap view to the left. Heres what I am trying to do, from cockpit view I slide the eyepoint over until the centerline is lined up in the center of the left monitor, then what I need to be able to do is turn my head (so to speak) to the left a little.

Thanks
Denny

In the Aircraft.CFG file there is a [Views] section. Make a back up of your original file (just in case) and mess around with the settings. See what happens. Cant hurt to try, unless you dont back up the original.
Good luck

Sorry to say Denny but it can't be done. You can move your eyepoint around in FSX but the centre of the aircraft will always remain in the centre of the screen. Your only option is to go with a single monitor for the forward view or get a triplehead2go and use three monitors.

Ok thanks, I figured that was going to be the case.

I have to disagree with Shawn.
There are several ways to adjust the view. The easiest would be to save your flight, then edit the 'Rotation' settings of the relevant [Cameras.x.y] for each [Window.x] within the saved .flt file. The three rotation values shown represent pitch, yaw and roll. Change the yaw value for each camera where the camera GUID matches the CurrentCamera value for the related window.

A little self-promotion:
You may find my Windowmaker tool (http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php/23199-Windowmaker-tool-updated!?p=122772#post122772) helpful.

Thank you wledzian, now there is only one view stretched across 2 screens using DualHead2Go, could what your talking about still work?

Thanks

You could create a separate window for each monitor, or you could change the rotation value for the existing single view. Each method should work, each with their own advantages and disadvantages.

I have to disagree with Shawn.

This is one of the few (read only) places that I like to hear someone say that. ;) A friend of mine is trying to get a similar setup running and he'll be quite happy to hear that my doom and gloom diagnosis might not be quite right. Thanks for the help wledzian.

Cheers

Most of my friends will tell you - the best way to get me to do something is to insist that it can't be done.
