Hi All,
Could someone tell me if a Rotary Encoder can be damaged due to soldering wires to the legs. I have purchased CTS288 Encoders and there is one that sounds noisy as it is turned and the others do not. It sounds like a metalic click as it is turned and the others, you can just feel the detents but no excessive clicking. The Encoder still works Ok but this is the only one I had soldered wires to and am now thinking that I may use lugs to connect if the soldering is a problem. I did not hold the Iron on the pin for long at all.
Kind Regards
Bernie.
