Hi guys,
Just wondering if I could ask a question about running muliple (PCI-E) graphics cards in a single PC base unit... firstly I am building my cockpit and am using the Wilco Airbus so I plan on using a Single machine to run it all, my PC is an i7 2600k, 16GB Ram (I know FSX can't use more than 4GB of that!), an SSD and currently an Nvidia GTX560Ti, my question is:-
Can I install a second 'cheaper' graphics card so I get an additional 2 VGA/DVI connectors so that I can run the less graphics intentivise monitors such as my ECAMs and the PFD & ND screens. - I don't need to SLI them, I purely just want to gain an extra two VGA ports so that I can run the following monitors:-
1) External view (on my first DVI output from my main NVidia GTX560Ti card) - Which I'll also span across three monitors using an Matrox Triple Head2Go
2) MDCU touch screen (on my second DVI output from my main NVidia GTX560Ti card)
3) My PFD and ND screen (on the first DVI port of the second cheaper Graphic card)
4) My ECAMs screen (on the second DVI port of the second cheaper Graphic card)
...The kind of card I was planning on getting was this:-
http://www.ebuyer.com/282116-palit-gt520-heatsink-1gb-ddr3-dvi-vga-hdmi-pci-e-graphics-card-neat5200hd06-1193h
...as I don't see a need to spend another £170 on another GTX560Ti card... unless and here is my main question:- Will running a lower spec graphics card on my rig although not running the external view cause issues for my main GFX card, ie. will it limit the performace on the main card in anyway? (even if NOT SLI'd?)
I really hope someone can help answer this for me :)
