727 update from Denmark

Hello

Yesterday I recieved this, which I'd say is a rather big update to my 727 cockpit!

It's not an easy task to figure out how to connect it all to potentiometers etc. and hook it up with the pc! Anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? Especially the throttles; those are the most difficult ones to figure out.

Gratulerer Lasse! It'll look great once you refurbish it and put some fresh paint on it! The throttles are no worse to interface than anything else. I got a handful of P260 pots off Leo Bodnars site and interfaced the entire TQ through a BU0836X card. Shoot me an e-mail if you have any questions.

Looks good ;-) Go for the BU card and perhaps some slide potentiometers if the P260 are difficult to attach !

Well, I think I might go for the P260 and somehow connect each throttle lever by wire to the potentiometers. I allso need some resistance to the levers, as they are now they're just spinning without any resistance around the middle axis. Think the P260 solution will do the best in this situation.

Autopilot and one COM/NAV radio + audio select panel installed. Still looking for another COM/NAV radio, so if you see one out there, please give me a hint! :)

About the radio.. My initial plan was to remove the analog tapes, and install 7 segment displays. But I have been thinking if it's possible to install some potentiometers to the rotary switches, and that way keep the fancy analog tapes? Has anyone gone that road before?

Yes it is possible, i had a very knowledgeable electronics guy figure out how they work and program the tape radio through SIOC.
I can personally verify this works flawlessly.

I look forward to seeing you interface those radios with the original tape digits! You are braver than me! :)
There are quite a few radios on e-bay I think. At least there was a while ago, haven't checked lately.

With regards to throttle lever resistance. Isn't there a throttle friction mechanism on your TQ? On mine there's a friction lever between the #3 throttle lever and the flap lever. The friction lever is hooked up to a mechanism with "brake pads" that act on the large throttle pulleys. This keep the throtlle levers from spinning around their own axis.

As far as i'm aware no pots where substituted and instead the original cogs and mechanism is used and is used as a 'pulse' for each turn which is recognised in SIOC.
