Guys, I have decided to cancel my 737 build and go with a C172N instead.

For this I was planning on using the gauges from thegaugesfactory.org which are terrific, but the only thing is they don't have fuel pressure, manifold, etc, gauges for the C172. They only have the Fuel Qty gauge for the C172 as far as the engine and fuel is concerned.

I was wondering if anyone knows if RealityXP gauges have ALL gauges needed to build a full C172N cockpit AND does RealityXP gauges work on a network computer via WideFS? I have searched on the RealityXP site but it is not clear whether their gauges work over a networked computer.

Besides these two offerings, are their any other providers of networked C172 gauges? I saw Project Magenta has a GA package but as usual, they want an eye and a leg for them.

Hi.

Have you tried Peix Software Gauges...........?

Not used them in ages but I remember that they had the full set of gauges that you want.

Cheap too, but you must network them or they are crap on a single pc and the graphics are a little grainy!

Wow, Alex, great find!! They look great, work over a network and reasonably priced! Gonna give these a try. Thanks!

YES!!! Another 172 Build! Good to see. And an N to boot.

My base sim is a 172N. And as it happened I managed to score a 172N fuselage off eBay two years ago for a good price.

Glad you asked the question since I am wrestling with the gauge issue myself.

Hey Tom!!! That is awesome, a fellow C172 builder! hahaha I'm sure gonna need a ton of measurements of inside the cabin. I will be riding this Saturday with my Aviation Unit and hopefully I will be able to get some measurements myself, but I'm home until then and I am getting antsy! I want to start cutting some wood and pvc! hahahaha

Let me know what dimensions you need. I can get them later this evening. The seats are at my storage unit at the moment and I don't have the interior trim panels installed but I can get any other dimensions you might need.

Ok, I know you said you don't have the seats right now, but do you know how HIGH off the floor is the seat? How high is your butt from the floor lol

I can get that for you but probably not this evening. I can get over to the storage unit tomorrow and get a measurement.

On thing to keep in mind with the seat position is its relationship to the rudder pedal height. The deck of the fuselage slopes down in front of the seat rails so that the rudder pedals sit lower allowing for better height from seat bottom to rudder pedals given how low the seat sits. I'll try to get those dimensions as well for you.

Tutorial on how to make your own gauges in the download section. I started to make my own but got side tracked with the mechanical part of the sim panel. Jake.

Work and Such got the best of me today so I never got into the garage to measure the floor drop or to the storage unit to get the seat dimensions. I'll try again tomorrow though. It's past 1am here now and I need some sleep. 6am is coming fast...

E,

I got the dimensions off the high back pilots seat, The seat base has a fixed cant to it so that the cushion height is 15" off the deck at the front and 11" off the deck at the back. The cushion is 18" wide by 17" deep and the seat back is 22" high.

There's a fair amount of adjustment in seat position from front to back. If you are doing a two seat setup the seats are 20.75" from center of pilots seat to center of copilots seat.

The flat portion of the deck extends 11.25" forward of the seat rail front and then the deck angles down 14 degrees and extends another 12". The base of the rudder pedals is 5.5" above the forward point of the deck. Actually due to the angle they are at the base of the pedals is actually 1 inch back (closer to your feet) from the forward most point of the deck.

If you want I can also get you the position of the yoke and instrument panel in relation to the deck and seat. Let me know.

Hey, Tom!

Thanks a million for your measurements! They will come in very handy. Oh by the way, guess what? I will be riding with my department's Aviation Unit this evening!! That means I will be able to take my measuring tape with me and take all measurements I need. hahaha I will have a blast! Our Aviation Unit has some 172s and a 182 I think with the G1000 installed. I was told to be there at 6pm, so you know I will be there at 4pm! hahahaha
