Hello everyone. As some of you may know, I will be building a fixed base, Semi-Low Budget simulator based on the HS748. There is not much to see right now, but I decided to get a few pics of my current progress.

A quick update. I haven't been updating much, but that was because of a near crisis. I thought that my panel was too large and that I had gotten the dimensions wrong. Luckily, they were correct. Fun fact, the cockpit of the HS748 is actually larger than that of a 737. this is because on a 737, the nose sharply slopes inward. Just look at some 3-view photos and you'll see what I mean.

Sorry for the Low quality image:

Great news! I've finally gotten the hang of L:Var scripting. Now, I have a large batch of SPDT Toggle Switches on the way, and I interfaced my CH TQ so I can finally use the HP Cocks, Gust Lock, Prop Brake, and Flat Pitch (Kinda like reverse thrust) without using the mouse or the F2 key. Later I will order a BBI-32.

The switches are in. Unfortunately, I made a boneheaded move and forgot to order the two three position switches and two push-buttons. Lesson learned. I've continued applying decals, and I just ordered the BBI-32.

The Royal Mail service...
Europe's answer to Canada Post! Geez they are slow. For the past 5 days, the status has been "Your shipment has been received at our headquarters and is being prepared for shipping." I could give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that there's more to it than wrapping it in bubble wrap and putting it in the box, but 5 days? Next time, I'll order a GP-Wiz 40 Max instead.

The build is now on a two month hiatus for real life reasons. I'll try to upload a video by then.

That's good. Why not finding a real HS748 cockpit and measure the cockpit ?

There are only about 30 or so left in service. I dimensioned it by taking a measurement I did know, which was the 5 inch distance between the two vertical lines on either side of the gyro compass, and then scaling the plan from there. I have almost everything planned, however the lack of a CNC machine has made the progress quite slow. Also, I keep having to go on long leaves to other places, halting progress for months at a time. I have no up-to-date pictures yet. Now I have all the switches interfaced to the overhead, as well as an unpainted engine panel and Captain's MIP.

Why not buying a CNC machine ? You can find cheap in eBay.

would you be able to supply me either drawings or just dimensions of a hs748 internal cockpit windows + overhead

in particular im looking for the window dimensions and angles there set to inside the cockpit
so I can build the top half of the internal cockpit and add it ontop of the already built main instrument panel

(as shown in the picture)

any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated

thanks

I replied to your PM. This thread is more or less dead. I don't really use it anymore because of how slow the project is moving, so try to post on my newer threads about the project instead.

hi
thanks for replying quickly

The panel itself is not truly an accurate 737 ng mockup

( standy gauges different and no slope angle ontop of panel as per a real 737 )

and as a result ive decided to go the creative route with 737 ng systems for flight and nav

and like the windows from an hs748 so much they give the panel a real enclosed look !!!!
also
really looking forward to the help you said you could do regarding window sise and overhead dims
thanks Marcus
